Meet the Team: Victoria Dixon, Account Director

This week we caught up with Account Director, Victoria, to talk about her incentive focused role, her fantastic events and travel background and the launch of a new Inconnection service…

Hi Vic, welcome to the Inconnection blog! You’ve joined us as Account Director, can you tell us a bit about your role?

Thanks for having me! I’ve got a really exciting role heading up the team who look after incentives.  I look after our clients with the help of our experienced Operations team and we design and deliver unforgettable trips around the globe. I am really focused on making sure we’re always recommending the newest and most exciting destinations, and I’m often on the ground delivering the programmes too, which I absolutely love.

I’m also involved with a new, exclusive Inconnection service, Bespoke, which is for individuals rather than corporate clients. It’s for people looking for tailor-made travel, exclusive hospitality and private events so my day-to-day is really varied.

It sounds like you love to travel, and you’ve got an extensive background in events too?

I’ve got over a decade of experience in marketing and events, both agency and client side in Manchester and London including five years in-house at Marks & Spencer where I specialised in the delivery of innovative consumer facing brand activations and creative press events.

We’d love to hear about a wow-factor incentive you’ve delivered recently…

One of my highlights from the past year has to be the 4-day Miami incentive I delivered for a select group of delegates. We had an incredible itinerary and were lucky enough to stay at the Nautilus hotel on Collins Avenue, South Beach.

One of my favourite things about Miami is there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We had dinner and drinks at the famous Bâoli, known for its nightly transformation into one of the best parties in town, an unforgettable Everglades experience, lunch and a relaxing day at Nikki Beach and more.

What do you think it is about an Inconnection incentive that makes it so memorable for attendees?

I think it’s a combination of factors, when it comes to incentives we always ensure that we are offering the perfect mix of activities and dining experiences in the hottest new destinations.

We know that businesses are looking to show their employees something out of the ordinary and ensure they have an experience unlike anything they might have on their own holidays and trips away. We start every planning exercise focused on delivering something so special it will be remembered, whether that is a trip to the Arctic to go husky sledding or a desert experience dune bashing in Abu Dhabi. No one size fits all and we are always considering our audience and what they are going to get the most out of. For some, they’ll love getting the adrenaline rushing with something active and others will enjoy dinner in a spectacular setting experiencing a destinations local food and wine above anything else.  

In many cases incentives are used to reward employees for their hard work and dedication. Travel incentives provide a memorable experience for the beneficiary, so they feel that their efforts and hard work towards company targets were worth it. We want to make sure that those on the trips go back to the office full of stories to tell their colleagues heightening excitement and engagement which can be capitalised on for future incentives. We believe that an amazing itinerary combined with time out of the office getting to know colleagues on a personal level makes for a truly unforgettable time.

I use my events industry experience and passion for travel to design luxury travel itineraries, plan private events and source the best hospitality using Inconnection’s contacts and reputation within the industry. It’s really exciting and unlike anything else out there – for example, I love the fact that our clients have a private online portal which houses all their information for upcoming trips and bookings.
