Meet the Team: Jess Banks, Senior Operations Executive

30 October 2019

We caught up with Jess Banks, one of our Senior Operations Executives, who’s been involved with some of our most exciting projects over the past few months.

We talked about travelling Europe for work and pleasure, large conference planning and how bold decisions can pay off when it comes to creating unforgettable experiences for clients.

Hi Jess, welcome to the Inconnection blog at long last! You’ve been super busy over the past couple of months, can you tell us what you’ve been up to?

It’s been a busy few months you’re right, and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down! I’ve been working on all sorts of things really, I’ve been back and forth to London for conferences and site visits, and I’ve been to Budapest on an incentive trip. More recently, I’ve been in the office planning a week-long conference in Sitges, Spain, and working on proposals for exciting projects.

That sounds great, and very varied. Do you enjoy working on so many kinds of projects? Do you prefer one over the other when it comes to conferences and incentives?

I really enjoy it, there’s certainly no two days the same at Inconnection which is what I love about working here.

In terms of conferences and incentives, I enjoy the process of planning a conference but the challenge of finding and recommending activities and restaurants for a client incentive is really rewarding.

It’s great when a bold choice pays off. For example, we recommended Sparty – a party in the thermal baths - for our client going to Budapest, and the delegates really enjoyed it.

Are you looking forward to seeing all your hard work come together when you’re in Sitges in a couple of weeks?

Yes I am! I’ve been involved from early on in the planning stages, so it will be fantastic to be onsite with the client. It means I can make sure everything is running smoothly and if there are any last-minute changes, I can be there to keep things on track.

What do you think it is about the service Inconnection provides that makes us so valuable to our clients?

I think it’s the fact that we’re really personable, we like to get to know our clients and in a lot of cases we feel like an extension of their team. Relationships are a really important part of our company values (RARE – Relationships, Authenticity, Experience, Results) so it’s something we work hard at every day!

When you’re not travelling with work, where’s your favourite place to go on holiday?

My most recent holiday to Croatia has to be one of my favourites. I spent a few days in both Split and Dubrovnik, but I’d love to go back and do some island hopping too. We’ve actually suggested it to one of our clients for an incentive trip next year, so I look forward to giving some of my recommendations!

And finally, the most pressing question in the Inconnection office at the moment… Heroes or Celebrations?

I love a Milky Way, so it has to be Celebrations. Actually no, I can’t decide... Can I have both?
