Job Description

The Operations Manager will play an important role in the events and incentive team. They will be responsible for a wide range of projects and tasks within the team including the delivery and support of events, incentives and hospitality. They will support the Senior Operations Manager on large projects and have end to end responsibility for the planning of projects.  They will have direct client contact including management / presence on site at our events in the UK and overseas. This individual must have meticulous attention to detail and a can-do attitude.

The Operations Manager will report to the Senior Operations Manager and will work to a set of agreed objectives based on objectives based on financial, clients, service and people / personal development.  They will also manage and mentor others.

The Role

  • Resource planning and project allocation within operations team
  • Managing the operations team ensuring that all team members are working productively and with maximum efficiency following all processes and with the correct usage of the CRM system
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all key contacts, known for exceptional service and delivery
  • Leading key operational client meetings and site visits
  • Have a lead role on large scale projects with oversight of the operational team reports managing medium and small projects
  • Responsible for operations team budgets, and cost tracking with weekly business reporting
  • Playing a key role in the weekly operations planning / reporting meetings providing updates on projects within the team
  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through commissions, upselling, always looking at ways to increase margin
  • Producing top class proposals in response to client briefs
  • Attending new business pitches, presentations and creative proposals
  • Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers negotiating effectively
  • Provide training and development for line reports including objective setting and reviews
  • Communicate upwardly ensuring SOM is informed of all key information regarding operations, clients and projects
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of all processes
  • Staying abreast at all times with developments within our client’s sectors and the event industry
  • Ability to mentor and develop other team members

Additional Qualities

  • 5+ years experience within an agency environment
