Valeo distributor incentive

Brent Hudson, Marketing Director of Valeo:

"The success of our Dubai Desert Classic was down to the hard work, commitment and creativity of the Inconnection team. The event was well organized and made a tremendous impact on our customers helping to meet our twin objectives of increased profitability and increased customer loyalty. We have used Inconnection for our last three trips and will do so again in 2008.”

Overview

Valeo is an independent, industrial group which ranks among the world’s leading automotive suppliers.  With a turnover of £7bn, Valeo is a significant player in the field.

The company approached Inconnection to create its third annual incentive scheme for Valeo’s top customers at MD level in the UK.  Inconnection had previously devised incentive trips for Valeo to Las Vegas and Miami.  The aim was to create a completely relaxed environment for guests, a world away from day-to-day business.

The Solution

Valeo set each customer a target for incremental business placed in quarter 3.  Customers hitting the target earned a place on the trip.

Inconnection created a four-day programme of events for the 16 top achievers staying at the stunning Madinat Jumeirah resort, Dubai.

The Dubai Desert Classic event began with lunch at the world renowned Burj Al Arab. The next day took guests into the desert on a 4 x 4 safari, followed by an evening in the desert at a Bedouin-style camp, complete with camels and bellydancers!

Over the weekend, a full programme of leisure activities was on offer, including golf, Wild Wadi water-park, and heavenly treatments in the Six Senses Spa.

The Results

Valeo met its objectives to incentivise its most valued customers.  Valeo increased sales by 20 % in quarter 3, covering the cost of the trip and raising additional profit for the business.
