Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Policy
We take our responsibilities within the local and wider communities extremely seriously.Education
Our links with educational establishments are strong and varied, stretching widely from helping with Summer Fetes to offering work experience to students. We have also introduced a number of CSR team building events and venues to our portfolio in order to offer clients ways to improve their understanding of CSR issues and to encourage them to do their bit for the environment.
Community Support
Working closely with many local organisations, we help to support the community in many different ways. From helping to raise funds for needy causes to organising charity events.
National Charities
We support national charities such as Macmillan Cancer, Red Nose Day and Cancer Research. We have also set up a scheme with a mobile phone recycling company who donate £10 to Cancer Research UK for each mobile phone returned to them. These are then disposed of safely without going into landfill sites.
Environment & Waste Management
Over the past 18 months, we have made some real steps in reducing our waste.
- All in-house printing is double-sided, eliminating paper and energy waste
- Scrap paper with printing on one side is used in the fax machine and photocopier
- We request that all supplier brochures are sent electronically to reduce paper wastage
- We have changed our water cooler to a point of use to negate the need for plastic water bottles
- We no longer use plastic cups for the water machine but have some nice re-useable glass ones instead
- Heating is timed for certain periods of the day, eliminating wastage
- All monitors, PC's and printers are turned off at the end of each working day
- We currently recycle: paper, cardboard, ink cartridges and mobile phones
We take our paper and cardboard to the local recycling point, managed by Stockport Waste Management and we have actively researched what happens to our waste once collected. Waste is transported to our local recycling plant, owned and run by SEP. It is sieved and separated and any non-recyclable items are removed and disposed of.
